THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS TRANSFER PROJECT

... is to sensitise and inform VET teachers working with disadvantaged persons about the possibilities to introduce SDL into their teaching practice.

The project partners in EMPOWER DEPRIVED LEARNERS in VET have finalised the following products:

Products

HANDBOOK and GUIDELINES for the introduction of self-directed learning to offer the concept of SDL in the Slovenian, Romanian and Turkish VET system to disadvantaged adults. The products are adapted to the specific learning cultures of the countries mentioned above and to the requirements of vocational training providers for low-level educated adults.

TRAINING MATERIALS for VET-Providers, teachers and trainers. This collection of exercises and workshops can be used for various target groups.

An IMPLEMENTATION CONCEPT to show of how to put these materials into the learning practice, i.e. raising the interest of educational policy makers and the respective organisations.

Main target groups

VET teachers and trainers who can acquire additional skills and competences to become capable of offering improved advice in the SDL approach to low skilled and disadvantaged adults
Training providers who can immediately improve the quality of their VET measures and/ or offer new training courses which are based on the project results
Employers who can benefit from a higher number of better qualified people.
